The Missouri Film Production Incentive program sunset Nov. 28, 2013. The last film project to use the Missouri Film Incentive was David Fincher’s film Gone Girl. The film made a direct economic impact to Cape Girardeau, MO of nearly $7.9 million, with an ad equivalence calculated to equaling $3 million as Missouri was touted as the filming location for Gone Girl in over 2,600 online, print and TV mentions by national outlets.
MOMMA is working hard to get an incentive program back on the books to attract production to the state of Missouri. At this time, there are no tax incentives in Missouri, while over 35 other states have programs to offer production companies.
