The Kansas City FilmFest is celebrating its 20th year and unites educational, cultural and film organizations in a celebration of independent filmmaking. Each year the festival builds on its tradition of bringing inspiring, thought-provoking, and entertaining films to Kansas City audiences and offers opportunities for artists and filmmakers to network, and develop their craft and art.
The event runs Wednesday April 13 – Sunday April 17 this year. There is a Facebook Page (with events!) and Twitter account to stay up-to-date.
Visit the website – KCFilmFest.org – to purchase passes (single film tickets go on sale April 5th) and discover the many films and events that are part of the festival. That includes a Screenwriters Workshop with Academy Award nominee Angelo Pizzo (Rudy, Hoosiers) on Saturday April 16th.
The Kansas City FilmFest is the largest film festival in the Kansas City Metro Area. Kansas City FilmFest is a festival of juried films, seminars, panels, receptions and parties. It’s a collaborative, multi-day, annual cultural event designed to celebrate the creativity and hard work of independent filmmakers from around the world! A mix of local, national and international award winning films are screened over a period of 5 days.
