Cinema St. Louis hosts its annual Oscar Experience: St. Louis fundraiser, St. Louis â€™ only OscarÂ® party officially sanctioned by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, from 6-10:30 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Monarch, 7401 Manchester Rd.
Participants â€“ who must be 21 or older â€“ will watch ABCâ€™s telecast of the 85th Academy AwardsÂ® ceremony on high-definition TVs. Complimentary wine will be served from 6-7 p.m.; complimentary Stella Artois will be available throughout the night; and a buffet of appetizers by the Pasta House Co. will be served from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
The OscarÂ® telecast, hosted by Seth McFarlane, will begin at 6 p.m. with red-carpet arrivals. Celebrity host Mark Reardon from KMOX 1120 AM will emcee the event and give away attendance prizes during live segments at commercial breaks. A silent auction will be held throughout the evening, and select items will be auctioned live by the Pasta House Co.â€™s Kim Tucci .
Tickets are $100 ($75 tax deductible). Price includes wine from 6-7 p.m.; Stella Artois throughout the night (cash bar for all other drinks); a buffet of appetizers by the Pasta House Co.; silent and live auctions; and attendance prizes. All guests will receive a gift bag. Free parking is available in the Monarch lot or on the street.
The nonprofit Cinema St. Louis annually presents the St. Louis Filmmakers Showcase in July and St. Louis International Film Festival in November.
