Special primary election – House District 87
State Representative Stacey Newman emerged as the winner of the Sept. 25 special primary election in District 87. The special election was ordered by the St. Louis County Circuit Court as a result of irregularities that occurred during the August 7th primary election that Rep. Newman won by a single vote.
State Representative Newman was appointed to the Film Commission this past spring and serves as one of 2 House members on the panel.
In related primary results, State Senator Robin Wright Jones, one of two Senate members on the Film Commission, was defeated in a three way primary.
