Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula Screens
At “Indie Films in the Street” in Kansas City Crossroads
The award-winning Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula, a Kansas City-produced action-horror feature film, will be screening during the Indie Films in the Street event in the Crossroads Art District on Saturday, July 10, 2010 at 103 West 19th, 19th and Baltimore. Food and drink vendors will be on site. The screening time will begin just after sundown (around 8:45 p.m.) and admission is free to the public. Just bring your chair, find a spot and enjoy the show!
Independent Filmmakers Coalition of Kansas City and event co-sponsors The Hemingway Gallery and Ink Magazine are presenting films on the second Saturday of each month, July through September. Films screened during the monthly events will include 30 minutes of short films followed by a feature film, and all films are associated with IFCKC members. IFCKC President Brian Boye stated, “Indie Films in the Street is an opportunity to support Kansas City’s dedicated and talented filmmakers, and to give local audiences a unique and memorable experience in the Crossroads Art District.”
Bonnie and Clyde vs. Dracula was produced by local independent filmmakers Big Atom Productions, LLC in association with the Lenexa-based company Outpost Worldwide. The film stars horror celebrities Tiffany Shepis and Trent Haaga as Bonnie and Clyde, with Kansas City-based supporting actors that include T. Max Graham, who appeared in David Lynch’s cult classic, ‘Eraserhead’. The film combines the rough and tumble world of 1930s gangster movies with the violence and gothic atmosphere of a classic horror film.
Legendary outlaw couple Bonnie & Clyde are on the run from the law and in need of fast money. When one of their companions is shot during a robbery, they are forced to seek help from the crazed Dr. Loveless. When Bonnie & Clyde arrive at the Doctor’s mansion they discover he has a secret. Deep in his cellar, the recently revived Dracula awaits…and when gangsters meet vampires, there’s bloody hell to pay.
Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula was filmed in HD (high definition) by Emmy-award winning Director of Photography Todd Norris, a resident of Prairie Village, Kansas, on location in St. Joseph and Weston, Missouri. The film was the original creation of Timothy Friend, who wrote, directed, and co-edited the film. Co-producer Jennifer Friend, an Associate Professor at the University of Missouri-Kansas City’s School of Education, also acted in the film in the co-starring role of Annabel.
Big Atom Productions is anticipating a late Fall 2010 DVD-release of the film. Bonnie & Clyde vs. Dracula’s festival screenings throughout the United States and in Europe have garnered several ‘Best Feature’ awards, a ‘Best Actor’ award for Clyde (Trent Haaga), and a ‘Best of the Fest’ grand prize award.
